We are delighted to have been chosen to move forward for the public vote for the Money for Moray Just Transition fund. This is an amazing way to show the Moray Community how owning an electric vehicle will complement our work, add to the resources in Moray and most of all reduce our carbon footprint. It will also save the charity money, meaning the funds we currently spend on fossil fuel miles will instead go back into supporting families.
We currently drive across Moray every week on a daily basis to pick up donations, parcels and deliver school uniform and warm winter items. No worries in Moray also supports families with trips out covering many miles across the year. If we could purchase an electric van with seats this would mean the van would be multi-functional to transport clothing and people, reduce our need on fossil fuel and reduce our impact on the climate.
Vicky Flood from Moray School Bank said, “having an electric vehicle will go far helping us to reduce our carbon footprint while still being able to deliver the service we offer to families experiencing poverty, who are the true benefactors of our work. On top of that, to support the maintenance, we will be offering the vehicle out to other charities to use for a donation adding more resource out into the community”.
We will be at the Laichmoray hotel in Elgin on Thursday 8th December between 6 PM and 8 PM to showcase what we do and why voting for us continues to contribute to supporting the children and young people in Moray.
