Moray School Bank have been awarded £10,000 from STV appeal to offer essential grants through the 2nd Covid-19 lockdown.
Moray School Bank previously secured £55,000 from a number of funders including STV Appeal during the first lockdown to offer essential grants to families experiencing financial difficulty during lock down. We were able to offer supermarket voucher and fuel top ups to 346 families which was 667 children right across the local authority.
This current round of funding has been awarded to support families across Moray who would not have been eligible for the £100 per child Scottish government winter hardship fund.
Moray School Bank will work with partnership agencies and the local communities to ensure the £10,000 is distributed to the families in need across Moray.
Moray School Bank Development Manager Debi Weir said
‘We are just delighted to be able once again to offer much needed support to families for shopping and heating as they are struggling to make ends meet through the additional stresses and strains of covid lockdown, many of whom are furloughed or have lost their jobs’
