Volunteering with Moray School Bank
Thank you for choosing to volunteer with Moray School Bank (MSB) and for helping to reach and improve the lives of children in Moray.
Volunteers are at the very heart of our organisation. You’re MSB’s face in the local community. You are essential to everything we do! It’s our ambition to make sure anyone who gives their time to us feels valued, understood, and proud to be part of MSB.
We would like to offer volunteering roles where people can thrive and get involved with the bits they want to do. If you want to get involved in sorting clothes and helping behind the scenes you can join us at our volunteering hub. If you want to get involved in retail experience our Pop in Shop will be coming soon. If you want to do some volunteering from home, then we can arrange that. There are many varied roles that are on offer including some more longer-term projects and one off volunteering events that can fit into busy schedules.
MSB want to enable volunteers to join in where they can. We also want to provide opportunities for volunteers to gain awards for their commitment and participation. These include Saltire and Hi5, alongside badges for Scouts & Brownies, Rangers and Guides. We also can offer support with Duke of Edinburgh and any other awards that may contribute to personal development as well as simply joining in to have fun.
Small Group/Individual 2-hour sessions
Over the summer during our 'Back to School' campaign we offer 2-hour volunteering slots where you can come along and help us to sort donations, prepare packs for children, etc. These slots are available for parents and children and can be a great way to come along and show children and young people the work we do and encourage them to get involved.
We have morning and afternoon slots available during the week, to allow flexibility for those that wish to help out.

Volunteering Roles We Need
Current roles that we are looking for are:
Board Member (16+): We are currently looking for some more board members representative of an age range between 16 and 35. Minimum commitment is 1 hour per month for the board meeting. Any and all board members are supported in their role and we would welcome anyone who has been supported by MSB.
Community Volunteer: This is a role for volunteers that would like to get involved in activities in their local community. This would suit anyone keen to get involved in events such as community fetes, coffee mornings, uniform sales or fundraising events. Volunteer hours may vary from a morning to all day.
Donation Point Driver: We need drivers to regularly visit our drop off points and empty our bins, to help with the steady flow of donations.
Volunteer Driving Instructor: We have a driving project and we are keen to hear from any qualified driving instructors who may be interested in volunteering with us. They would volunteer their time and would only charge the person the running costs for lessons(£20 per hour).
